Introduction

Repair shops and used equipment resellers typically operate out of the same location. Whatever mix you run, the underlying interest is the same: get more value out of every tank truck that comes through your lot, whether that truck is on your rack or on your lot for resale. Surge Busters create that value in a few distinct ways below. If you do both, all of it applies to you. If you do one, skip to the section that's yours.

If You Do Repair & Maintenance

Surge force adds a cyclic load across nearly every component connecting the tank to the road: shocks, kingpins, springs, drivelines, brakes, tires, frame. It's why tank trucks go through certain parts faster than other equipment in the yard.

51.9%

Reduction in G-force on the truck frame, all three axes of movement. Two matched home heating oil delivery trucks, one with Surge Busters, one without. See the full G-force fleet study (PDF)

A fleet comparison measured a 51.9% reduction in G-force on a truck's frame after installing Surge Busters, tracked across side-to-side, front-to-back, and up-and-down movement on two matched 2,800-gallon delivery trucks.

A Higher Level of Service, Not Just a Faster One

Less cyclic load on a truck's components generally means fewer of the sudden, unplanned failures that turn into same-day emergency jobs, and more of your bay time spent on scheduled work instead. That's a reasonable expectation based on the measured reduction, not a separately tested claim about shop revenue or scheduling. Worth being clear about that distinction if you're citing it to a customer.

What Drivers Report, Not Yet Measured

Truckers have reported both fuel savings and reduced repair costs, brake jobs in particular, from running Surge Busters. We don't have data behind either claim yet, only driver reports, so we're not presenting it as measured evidence alongside the 51.9% figure above. It's plausible: less cyclic load on the brakes is the same mechanism behind that measured G-force reduction. Plausible isn't the same as proven, and we won't tell you otherwise.

Increase Income With a Service You're Already Equipped For

Installation is a genuine service opportunity, not just a customer talking point: Surge Busters install through the existing tank access port, no welding, no tank modification, no special tools. A shop already equipped to service tank trucks is already equipped to install these, and to charge for doing it.

A Service You May Not Know You Can Offer

We're looking for shops and fleets willing to run a comparable comparison: one truck with Surge Busters, one without, with sensors on both. There's no cost or obligation beyond sharing what you'd be tracking anyway. Contact us if you're interested.

If You Resell Used Equipment

Increase Income Through Real Differentiation

Surge Busters give you a genuine point of differentiation: protected technology, not a generic baffle ball. When a customer or their counsel asks "is this just a generic part?", the answer is backed by a real patent, not a marketing claim. The current design is covered by U.S. Patent No. 11,312,568, which builds on and incorporates the earlier U.S. Patent No. 6,945,423, also owned by Liquid Surge Control.

A Reusable Asset, Not a Fixture

Units are transferable between tanks, which matters specifically for resale inventory: an installed unit isn't scrapped when the tank it's in gets retired or sold off separately. It can be pulled and reinstalled on another tank, a reusable asset attached to your inventory, not a fixture stuck to one specific piece of equipment.

Common Questions

Do I need special tools to install Surge Busters?

No. Surge Busters install through the existing tank access port, with no welding and no tank modification. A shop already equipped to service tank trucks is already equipped to install them.

Can Surge Busters be resold or moved to a different tank?

Yes. Units are transferable between tanks. An installed unit is not scrapped when the tank it's in is retired or sold separately, it can be pulled and reinstalled on another tank.

Is Surge Busters technology patented?

Yes. The current design is covered by U.S. Patent No. 11,312,568, which builds on and incorporates the earlier U.S. Patent No. 6,945,423, also owned by Liquid Surge Control.

How much does installing Surge Busters reduce G-force on a truck?

An independent fleet comparison of two matched 2,800-gallon home heating oil delivery trucks measured a 51.9% average reduction in G-force on the truck frame across all three axes of movement, comparing one truck with Surge Busters installed to one without.
